Aleza Zheng (born 1999, Shenyang, China) is a multi-disciplinary artist working with oil, ink, linen, and silk. She uses the genre of auto-fiction to understand history through personal experience, weaving current politics with fairytales, observations with narrative, and traditional methods of Western oil and eastern ink painting with the contemporary subjects. Her practice presents the world through anthropomorphized objects, using empathy as a device to understand disorientation, humanity, and invite an re-enchantment of the world.
