Aleza Zheng (born 1999, Shenyang, China) is a painter and printmaker based in Los Angeles. She explores the vertiginous conflict between the self and nature, questioning where one ends and the other begins.

For Aleza, figurative painting is a practice of distinctions: between form and shadow, portrait and landscape, and positive and negative space. Through her brushwork, she aims to push the delineation within these binaries, revealing how each element contains traces of its counterpart.

She received a BFA in painting and printmaking from ArtCenter College of Design in 2022. Born in China and raised in Canada, Aleza pursued her education in Los Angeles. Her work, influenced by the complexities of globalization, attempts to articulate a sense of disorientation and fluidity in being, highlighting how language and meaning evolve within visual cultures. Her canvases become sites where traditional dichotomies' fixed boundaries are challenged, offering a reflection on the continuous process of meaning-making and the inherent instability of cultural symbols.
